Srinagar, May 15 (KNO) : Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar police on Wednesday claimed to have raided a gambling site and arrested seven gamblers. Seven persons were arrested following a credible input about gambling offences in Natipora area of Chanapora, police spokesman said as per a statement issued to KNO, adding that officers from the local police unit while making the arrests have seized stake money of Rs 14,600 from the gamblers. A case FIR number 88/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated, police said. “Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. Community members can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” police said.(KNO)
